Malibu Medical Group - Patient Conduct & Billing Policy
Deposit & Transportation
It is the policy of Casa Santa Isabel that Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are used to reserve rooms and secure availability for the dates requested.
A patient's scheduled arrival date may be changed once, provided the clinic is notified at least seven (7) days in advance of the originally scheduled arrival. Additional changes, or any changes made within seven days of the scheduled arrival date, will incur a change fee of $500 USD per change, and may result in the loss of any previously agreed-upon discounts.
The Admissions Staff will provide directions to the clinic and offer recommendations for chauffeur services from San Diego and nearby airports. However, each patient is responsible for selecting a method of transportation and ensuring timely and safe arrival. Chauffeur or ride services are not affiliated with Casa Santa Isabel, and any agreements—such as payment terms and service fees—are solely between the patient and the chosen provider.
Patients are responsible for complying with all entry and exit requirements based on their nationality. Please note that vaping devices of any kind are prohibited in Mexico; therefore, their use is also prohibited at the clinic. Additionally, crossing international borders with any illicit substances (including THC) or carrying prescription medication without a valid prescription is strictly prohibited and may result in severe penalties, including fines, detention, and/or arrest. Patients are solely responsible for ensuring that any medications they travel with comply with the laws and regulations of both their country of departure and destination.
For scheduling purposes, a “day” is defined as any portion of a day spent at the clinic. Therefore, a 7-day program includes both the day of arrival and the day of departure, totaling 6 nights. For example, a 7-day program beginning on the 1st would conclude with departure on the 7th. The same structure applies to longer programs—for instance, a 10-day program would run from arrival on the 1st through departure on the 10th. This approach ensures consistency across all program durations.
Balance Payments
Balance payments are due on or before arrival and may be made by Visa, MasterCard, cash, or wire transfer.
Please note that our online card processing is limited to deposits only. For balance payments by card, the cardholder must be physically present. If the cardholder will not be present at the time of payment, the only accepted alternatives are wire transfer or cash.
- Wire transfers must be initiated at least three (3) business days prior to arrival to ensure timely processing.
- Cash payments should be entrusted to the patient to bring with them and submit upon arrival.
Note: After completing the deposit, please notify our Billing Department by email at billing@casasantaisabel.com and indicate how you plan to pay the balance. They will update the patient file and provide any additional details needed, such as transfer instructions.
Substances Included in Our Arrival Screening
Our standard arrival drug screening includes the following substances:
Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Buprenorphine, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Alcohol, Fentanyl, Synthetic Marijuana (K2), Ketamine, Kratom, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), 6-Monoacetylmorphine (Heroin), Ecstasy (MDMA), Methylphenidate, Methamphetamine, Methadone, Morphine/Opiates, Oxycodone, Phencyclidine (PCP), Flakka (Alpha-PVP), Psilocybin (Mushrooms), Tricyclic Antidepressants, Cannabinoids (Marijuana), Tianeptine (an atypical tricyclic antidepressant), Tramadol, and Xylazine (a muscle relaxant).
Important Information Regarding Detection & Treatment
If a screening detects substances not included in the original quote, the patient will be required to enroll in a program tailored to their specific needs. A positive result for certain substances may necessitate a detoxification or transition period prior to beginning treatment, which may increase both the cost and duration of the stay.
Some substances may require a detox period lasting several weeks. It is essential that all relevant substance use is disclosed to the medical team prior to arrival. This information allows for a more accurate estimate of the overall cost and length of treatment.
Upon arrival, the patient will have the option to either:
-
Proceed with an additional program, if deemed necessary by the clinical team, or
-
Be discharged and issued a credit to return once the unreported substance has cleared.
Refunds & Credits
If a patient is discharged due to preliminary exam results, a full refund minus Deposit
will be issued with the following exceptions; If the results are postponed due to patient
refusal or inability to test, a $1,000 USD per day charge will be deducted for every day
after 12PM from the day of admission in addition to the initial Deposit charge. Please
